During the UK Covid-19 lockdowns we lived in a first floor flat. We couldn’t hang traditional bird feeders but it was a quiet area and we would regularly hear the birds singing. We had a window-sucker feeder with a tray and stuck it on the living room window (with some pulleys tied to a hook inside in case the suckers failed!)
After a while, the blue tits got brave enough to dart from the trees to the feeder and back. They rarely stayed long. I set my camera up right up near the window with a remote and managed to grab this one shot among many blurry ones.
It’s also fascinating to capture slo-mo video. With zippy birds like blue tits, you don’t ever really appreciate the gracefulness in their motion when watching them in real time.
